History Essay.

Have to start essay. For an African American president would I rather have Booker T. Washington or Du Bois. Right now I am leaning towards Du Bois because he stands for the fundamentals that all citizens in America are equal. However, Washington has some good ideas about economic reforms for African Americans, and if they were followed through on, things today may be brighter. I think I will end up sticking for Du Bois though, because there should always be a difference between economic status and rights. The rich already have enough advantages, so they should not have advantage under the law, especially since America prides itself on "All Men Are Created Equal."

Writing is liberation of the mind
Freedom
It is coming from your own mind
Originality
It is all you, it make you yourself
Individuality
You say what you have to say
Confidence
Man, I love to write
Yes.
What is love but lust and dependence?
Within time they begin to understand each other,
Is that understanding love?
You can understand someone and not love them,
If you decide you do not want to love them
But if you want to love, I’m sure you can.
Even those with dirty past,
And who have committed horrific deeds,
They have their stories, and they are human,
But we can choose to not accept.
Its helpful you the couple is compatible,
Its makes things easier, less willingly to block off
But we can have love for anyone, its lust that we may not.
I think that is where is began,
As animals to reproduce, a man and woman are necessary,
Are hormones cause the attraction and lust,
To many it’s they feel is right.
Then there are those who are not attracted
To the opposite sex, instead they fall in love
With one of the same sex.
You can love someone you do not have lust for,
But if you could have lust wouldn’t you.
We have all types of relationships with love,
But the romantic one that marriage implies,
The one imagines with hearts and homes,
Is undeniably more successful with lust.
How many happy ones do you know
Where there is no lust at all?
Where you are not even with the gender you are attracted to?

The Ballad of Matt and Jane

Her golden hair blowing with the wind,
The blue-eyed beauty standing still.
Not knowing the change that would come
From an encounter she was soon to fulfill.

He saw her standing down the street.
He had known beautiful girls before
But this beauty seemed strong and wise.
For that, all he could do was adore.

When she saw him her heart fluttered,
She was taken aback by his bright smile,
And astonished by his ocean blue eyes,
Just looking at him seemed worthwhile.

Jane and Matt soon fell in deep love,
Doing everything possible together.
They experienced peace and felicity,
In the rain, sun and any other weather.

They spent many days at the river,
Sharing their lovely thoughts and words.
Hearing only the calm running water
And the high sweet song of the birds.

Secluded behind the whole town,
The river seemed to be theirs alone.
The flowing water washing off stress,
No signs of anger were ever shown.

One day at the river they found a box,
A bit larger than a book.
The box was mysterious to them,
Seeming impossible to unhook.

The box was brown and rectangular
With floral designs painted in gold.
Having pointed corners that hurt to touch,
It was still desirable to hold.

They spent many days wondering
What did the box behold or hide?
Was it a map, a diary, a treasure?
Dreaming they let thoughts collide.

They tried many new ways to open the box,
But there was no new progress to gain.
What started out as neat and curious,
Became an insane fixation for Jane.

Jane worked on the box every night,
her grades started to slide downhill.
A devoted student she used to be,
now a seeker with too much will.

While Jane was ambitious, Matt was not.
He did love the mystery of this mystical box
And he liked to marvel and wonder...
But he didn’t feel the need to unlock the locks.

Matt began to worry for Jane,
For her fantasies about the box were crazy.
Her obsession with this box was unhealthy
And their relationship began to grow hazy.

Matt then gained a new secret.
He knew what was inside the box but didn’t know what to do.
He knew that the object in the box would upset Jane greatly
And he had a feeling she would do something severe if she knew.

He planned to find something better for Jane,
He just wanted to find the perfect thing.
Finding something everlasting is never easy
But he had to do something to save their fling.

As much as Jane thought about the box,
Matt thought about what to put in it.
He had sleepless nights brainstorming
And tireless days searching without quit.

He looked in her room for the clues
nothing useful to the project came.
Ashamed that he didn’t know Jane enough,
He felt he was the one to blame.

Jane soon became suspicious,
She grew more irritable than ever.
Her patience was running thinner
But would she give up the box? Never.

Matt was starting to grow uneasy,
For Jane’s attitude was frightening.
Matt should have backed away right then,
This situation will not start brightening.

Jane thought that Matt was hiding the answer
that he was keeping the prize for him alone,
he was pretending he didn’t know,
But it was Jane’s idea to find the unknown.

She was going to figure it out.
she would use threats if she had to,
even with threats he wouldn’t budge,
But there was nothing she wouldn’t do.

As Jane persisted to badger Matt,
The more anxious he got to find something.
Something to put in the box for Jane,
Maybe he would get her a ring?

Jane got carried away and forgot what was right,
Our loving friend Matt died that Night.
As she realized her hands trembled in fright,
She didn’t mean to hold the trigger that tight.

Now Jane a murderer and alone,
Has nothing but guilt to hold on her shoulder.
She tried to grasp everything so tightly,
Only to have it all slip away, and grow much colder.

Like a rose with its beauties but pricks
And the wonders but deaths from gold
Both creating pain instead of love,
Maybe things so curious were not meant to hold.

Tumblr sucks so now I am here. I was just feeling like a stereotypical teenager, and I feel like one way to be your own original self is to write. I realize people on tumblr are more into picture posts and not so much into reading text posts, so I felt like making a blog here. I will post poetry and musings.
